I've made an RC Rainbow Unicorn!!
Initially it was going to be propelled by leaf blowers but after a couple of tests I decided to go for water jets. I installed a couple of them for propulsion on the sides and one in the front as an attack weapon as a way to flood the enemy with water.
The motors I used are 920Kv motors usually used as a spare for DJI drones and yes, as long as the contacts on the wires aren't exposed to water those can be used underwater. With salt water is more challenging as it is more conductive, it also corrodes the metallic parts of the motors way faster. After each use the motors should be rinsed with fresh water and oiled. It could have gone a bit faster if the motors were submerged all the time but the waves and the lightness of the Unicorn made the motors catch air all the time.
