Description

The National Eye Institute (NEI), has 3D printed scaffolds and tissue of the blood-retina barrier letting them make retina tissue models that could aid researchers. The ExaAm Project used exascale computing to simulate the entire 3D printed part. US Department of Energy’s (DOE’s), Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory and the National Institute of Standards and Technology researchers worked together to simulate the melt pool, packing, flow, part properties, microstructure, solidification, everything really.
