AMD RX 6950 XT - A Worthy Contender Or Worthless Stopgap???

Getting hold of a GPU is getting a lot easier, though still not at the levels, we as consumers expect. That's not stopping the likes of AMD from releasing a new range of cards as a "refresh" to the already existing 6000 series. What can we expect though, and will they be worth it, if we can even get hold of one, or is this just a worthless stopgap before the RX 7000 series arrive?
