Description

I know it's late! 8 months after release in fact. Well I had a hard time deciding on this one, but I have to say glad I decided to go for it.

After just picking up the Canon EOS R and testing it out for a few days it has truly exceeded my expectations.

So I thought I would share my thoughts and opinions on this rather divisive camera.

I shot the majority of the video including the face to camera footage with the EOS R in 1080p ALL-I compression so you can see the quality and also included some 4k video close up footage (scaled to 1080p for this video) Full 4k test footage to on the way and will be released on an up and coming video.

I have been shooting with the Canon EOS Mark III for the past few years and the main reason for the upgrade was to get a flip out screen and autofocus video capability.

I also need 4k video and despite the negativity surrounding the fact that the EOS R has a 1.7 crop factor for video I have to say it's not really an issue.

Especially given that fact that you can retro fit all of your EF series lenses using the EF to RF adapter!

So far so good. I'll be producing more videos on the EOS R with additional sample footage and photos soon.

Hopefully these comments help you cut through some of the nonsense you may have come across online.

Very keen to hear of any other experiences with the EOS R, comments or questions are also welcome.
