SmartReview.com was shown the new Canon EOS R full-frame mirrorless camera from Canon at CES 2019. The camera is capable of shooting 4K video at 24p and 30p, and use the excellent Dual Pixel autofocusing system. 60p full HD is also available. 10-bit 4:2:2 HDMI Output. However these is a 1.7 crop factor when shooting 4K.

New RF mount, and new RF lenses. RF has a new 12 pin connection to improve communication. New control ring on all the new lenses. Lens statistics can be seen in the viewfinder (the EVF is OLED with 3.69 million dots resolution).

Features include a 30.3 megapixel imager, Digic 8 image processor, and a variety of lens adapters. Microphone and Headphone jacks. Picture ISO 100–40000.

One feature not in the EOS R is in-body image stabilization (IBIS) which may be a disappointment to some.
