Description

Freewrite's first digital typewriter was designed to offer a premium typing experience, mechanical keyboard and all, on a device that would back up your work but otherwise keep you from getting distracted by the internet. It worked, but it was huge and bulky, not ideal for writing on the go.

The Traveler, Freewrite's follow-up, is the same ideal, but puts the device into a portable clamshell design. Gone are the mechanical keys, sadly, but the scissor-style keyboard is still satisfying, and the device does work to help you write on the go.

It's also extremely expensive, and for $600, you could also buy a decent Chromebook, though it wouldn't help you get away from the internet.
