Description

It’s hard to not love the current Mini SE, but with 114 miles of range per the EPA, it’s hard to consider that anything more than a fling. Thankfully, there’s a new electric Mini coming with more range, more power, and fresh looks. Plus, it’s getting an EV big brother: the Countryman E.

The new Cooper electric will be available in two trims: E and SE. The E is the entry-level model, with 184 horsepower and 190 miles of range on the European WLTP cycle. The SE steps up to 218 horsepower and 250 miles of WLTP range, but those numbers would be lower on the U.S. EPA cycle, probably in the area of 170 miles for the E and 220 for the SE. The bigger Countryman, meanwhile, offers up to 313 horsepower with all-wheel drive, and somewhere in the ballpark of 250 miles of range.

All offer concept-car-like interiors made of renewable and vegan materials plus refreshed exteriors that look fresh and clean. There’s even customizable lighting inside and out, with projectors built into the 9.4-inch circular OLED panel that shine different patterns onto that dashboard. Check out our video from the unveiling for all the details.
