The Garmin Varia RTL515 & RVR315 are the 3rd generation Garmin Varia cycling radar units. While the RTL515 might not look very different than the prior RTL510, internally its now sporting Bluetooth Smart connectivity for integration with apps like RideWithGPS, as well as Garmin's own Varia radar app.

The RTL515 got a very slight bump in battery life up to 16 hours (one more hour). While also gaining a new peloton mode. That mode dims the light when in a group.

Meanwhile, the RVR315 gets rid of the light altogether in exchange for a smaller form factor (and less battery lie). Both units support all the ANT+ & Bluetooth Smart connectivity with devices like the Wahoo ELEMNT/ROAM/BOLT, Hammerhead Karoo, Stages Dash L50 and M50. Plus numerous Garmin Edge series devices.
