Description

Here's your first look at the new GoPro Hero 10 Black Bones Edition, including how it differs from a normal Hero 10 Black, as well as the competition, and of course setup details and what's in the box. Oh, and a brief first flight.

GoPro has announced their latest camera, and most unique camera to date – the GoPro Hero 10 Black Bones. This camera weighs a mere 54g, but isn’t your normal GoPro. First off, it doesn’t have a battery. Second, it’s not waterproof. And third, it doesn’t have any screens.

The GoPro Hero 10 Bones is designed specifically for FPV drones, and is GoPro’s answer to the Insta360 SMO 4K, which is a cut-down version of their larger action cam. With FPV drones, the main goal is weight reduction. Because FPV drones tend to be heavily limited on flight time due to trying to conserve weight, many people have previously taken existing GoPro cameras and chopped them down, making so-called naked GoPro cameras, without the added weight. These cameras depend on the power system of the drone to operate, but that’s a compromise many are willing to make.
